Top soccer players’ Summer 2017 vacation trends revealed

TravelBird has released a report detailing some of the summer holiday destinations of 300 of the world’s most popular players, and ranked them based on distance travelled. As a company always looking to inspire travelers, TravelBird conducted the research to inspire footy fans and travel lovers alike so they can holiday like a football star. As well as looking at the destinations most visited by football players, the research also shows the distance each player has traveled, revealing the most travelled football players of summer 2017.

The researchers followed thousands of active footballers across their social media accounts, as well as sighting reports across the world’s media. A database of players and destinations was created and a formula then applied (see Methodology below) to each football star calculating the overall travel distance for all destinations found this summer. The calculation also took into account return trips to their starting city at the end of the journey.

“If you have always wanted to know where football players go on holiday, this is the list for you! In our list you will find the most popular destinations among some of the world’s top players.” said TravelBird CEO Steven Klooster.

The study reveals the 10 players who traveled farthest are:
