Visit California reaches new heights in Toronto

World-famous climber Kevin Jorgeson climbs to the top of the Royal Ontario Museum’s Crystal

Visit California invites you to dream big on October 26 as California Dreamer and world-famous climber Kevin Jorgeson climbs to the top of the Royal Ontario Museum’s (ROM) Crystal to show there are no limits to reaching your dreams.

California Dreamers is an inspiring documentary series that profiles people in California who are chasing their dreams and making them come true in the Golden State.

“Canadians and Californians have a shared passion for outdoor adventure, and we are thrilled to have Kevin bring his California Dream to one of Toronto’s most iconic buildings,” said Visit California President & CEO Caroline Beteta. “This event will excite spectators of all ages and entice them to follow their own dreams to the Golden State.”

Who:            Kevin Jorgeson began climbing as a toddler and by the age of 19 was ranked as the top climber for his age group in the United States. In 2009 he began work on the El Capitan Dawn Wall ascent in Yosemite Valley with fellow climber Tommy Caldwell. After six years of work, and 19 days on the wall, the pair completed what is called the world’s hardest free climb.

Visit California is a nonprofit organization with a mission to develop and maintain marketing programs – in partnership with the state’s travel industry – that keep California top-of-mind as a premier travel destination.

What:           The first stunt of its kind at The ROM, Kevin will bring his love for the California mountains to the heart of Toronto as he proves that no peak — whether it is the Dawn Wall or the the ROM’s Crystal — is out of reach and no dream is too big for this California Dreamer to master.
