World’s largest car rental company to hire 10,000 college graduates across 7 countries

Enterprise Holdings Inc., the largest car rental company in the world, today announced plans to hire nearly 10,000 college graduates into its Management Training Program and more than 2,000 interns into its Management Internship Program worldwide in 2017.

Each year, Enterprise hires thousands of college-educated, career-oriented men and women into its renowned Management Training and Management Internship programs – both of which teach employees how to run a business, empower teams and provide excellent face-to-face customer service. Other hallmarks include extensive training in a wide range of business skills, including profit and loss management, business-to-business marketing and sales, and operational logistics.

“Nearly 100 percent of our senior leadership team, including President and CEO Pam Nicholson and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Chrissy Taylor, started out in our Management Training Program,” said Marie Artim, Vice President of Talent Acquisition for Enterprise Holdings.

Enterprise operates its Management Training Program in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Ireland and the U.K. In the U.S. Enterprise has long been recognized as one of the largest recruiters of college graduates. The Management Training program also has been recognized globally, winning Enterprise the prestigious Graduate Employer of the Year Award at the 2016 TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards in London.

Enterprise uses a variety of high-touch, in-person and digital recruiting methods when communicating with prospective employees. As a result of these efforts, Enterprise has been recognized for excellence in recruiting both in North America as well as in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) by Talent Board, a nonprofit organization focused on the elevation and promotion of a positive candidate experience. Earlier this year, the Enterprise Holdings social recruiting team was honored with a Technology Excellence Award from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

Change careers without changing companies

With a breadth of job opportunities and business functions to support the company’s operations, Enterprise Holdings offers employees the opportunity to change careers without changing companies.

Through its integrated global network of regional subsidiaries and franchises locations, Enterprise Holdings operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands at more than 9,600 locations in more than 85 countries. Enterprise Holdings and its affiliate Enterprise Fleet Management together offer a total transportation solution. Other transportation services marketed under the Enterprise brand name include Enterprise Car Sales, Enterprise Truck Rental, Enterprise CarShare, Enterprise Rideshare, Zimride by Enterprise, Exotic Car Collection by Enterprise and Enterprise Flex-E-Rent.

Additional full-time time opportunities, including positions in accounting and finance, sales and customer service, and information technology (IT), also are available to support these business lines – at both regional administrative offices throughout the world, and at the company’s corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri.

“For nearly 60 years, thousands of highly motivated employees have been rewarded with new and challenging opportunities at Enterprise,” said Artim. “By promoting almost exclusively from within, we are building the next generation of leaders for our company.”

Promote-from-within culture

Enterprise Holdings’ culture is built on a set of founding values that not only fosters professional development, but also a strong promote-from-within philosophy. In fact, a major driver of the company’s promote-from-within culture is the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management Training Program, which is consistently successful in developing new hires into the next generation of business leaders.

Enterprise employees have a chance to advance their careers quickly, thanks in large part to the thorough preparation they receive in the Management Training Program, as well as the company’s award-winning practices in workplace training and development.

In addition, Enterprise Holdings’ promote-from-within culture is a driving force behind its need to recruit thousands of innovative, college-educated individuals each year. This year alone, more than 16,000 employees have been promoted or taken on new challenges in various positions throughout the company, contributing to new opportunities for existing management trainees and the need to add even more talented employees.

The company takes employee development very seriously, basing promotions in large part on managers’ ability to retain and develop their employees. Enterprise Holdings employs a philosophy of learning that focuses on job shadowing and active learning. Managers play a crucial role in the process, providing on-the-job support that is critical to the company’s success in building a strong bench of leaders.
