WTM 2016 – Tenerife event “onboard” iconic Cutty Sark

Around 100 guests, including leading tour operators and airlines, had the opportunity to learn about the Tenerife island’s “leisure” credentials at World Travel Market.

The Tenerife Tourism Corporation hosted a trade and media event “onboard” the iconic Cutty Sark, the world’s sole surviving tea clipper, during the evening of Monday, November 7.

Around 100 guests, including leading tour operators and airlines, had the opportunity to learn about the island’s “leisure” credentials – from outdoor activities and sports to a variety of theme parks and beaches “opened” all year-round.

Guests also celebrated the growth of the number of UK visitors to Tenerife. The island received a total of 1,553,282 visitors from the UK from January to September 2016 (+19.9% compared to the same period last year). The UK remains as the largest source market for Tenerife, accounting for 36.9%.

Boasting average annual temperatures of 22 degrees, Tenerife is the ideal short-haul destination for a leisure break with friends and families.
