Air Seychelles, an Etihad partner airline, is expected to take delivery of its second Airbus A330 aircraft in a few weeks time, allowing the expansion of wide body intercontinental and select African continental routes.
Come March will Air Seychelles launch direct flights to the German city of Duesseldorf which will be served twice a week with the new A330 aircraft while flights to Johannesburg will use this aircraft every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Mauritius, as well as Mumbai will also see the new Airbus make an appearance every Saturday and Sunday respectively while the remaining four weekly flights to these destinations will continue to use an Airbus A320.
Also in March will Air Seychelles begin twice weekly services to Durban, the capital of South Africa’s Kwa Zulu Natal Province and an important port and industrial city. An Airbus A320 will operate these flights every Thursday and Saturday.
Air Seychelles in 2016 uplifted a record number of passengers and is seen as a guarantor to serve key destinations with nonstop flights, boosting tourism arrivals for the archipelago, as growing visitor numbers from India, South Africa and France show.
Earlier in the week did Air Seychelles officially launch their offices in Durban with a joint marketing and PR presentation to the travel trade in Durban, supported by the Seychelles Tourism Board.
