Adventure vacations for the whole family

Some families prefer mountain biking to relaxing on the beach, and they like hiking much more than lounging by a pool. If this sounds like your family, then you might be looking for a more adventurous vacation to take them all on this summer. Something that truly gets the adrenalin pumping and that will appeal to every family member isn’t always easy to find, but there are options, and here are some to consider. You’ll want to check out reviews at Globo Surf as you get ready to head for the great outdoors!

Go On Safari

South Africa is the most amazing of countries, and it is full of spectacular nature reserves that demand to be seen. The most famous of these is the magnificent Kruger Park, but there are dozens of other, smaller, reserves that are just as wonderful and where you’ll be just as (if not more) likely to see some of the native wildlife that lives in the country.

You can stay in a lodge on one of these reserves, which are kept perfectly safe and away from the animals. During the day, you can go out on safaris with expert guides who will be able to tell you exactly which animals to look out for and, when you do see something, what it is. As well as safaris, you can enjoy courses on animal tracking, bush skills, and other outdoor living as well as trips to go snorkeling and kayaking, or even mountain biking.

Go Camping

America is the perfect place for camping, and whether you are first-time campers or you and your family have done all of this before, there is always something new to learn. Make sure you pack everything you need for your trip, especially if you aren’t staying on a dedicated campsite, and then give yourself over to the wild. You could even try foraging for food or go fishing for your dinner after checking the reports at Cutthroat Anglers

Camping is an amazing way to bond with your family and to get to know what nature can provide. Turn off the electronics and forget about the real world for a while.

Visit Temples

Sri Lanka is a beautiful blend of culture and nature. You can find World Heritage temples with elephants roaming the grounds, for example! If that wasn’t enough, Sri Lanka also offers plenty of different tours and adventures including a chance to see the rock fortress of Sigiriya up close, the leopards at Yala National Park, and the tea plantations in Nuwara Eliva. There are also beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka, so if you do find that you are worn out by all the exploring there is to do, a good rest on the beach should get you ready for the next thing on your to-do list.

The Northern Lights

If you like things a little colder, Iceland could well be the ideal vacation destination for a family who adores excitement and adventure, especially if you want to travel during the winter when ‘the land of fire and ice’ is at its most beautiful. Travel out into the frozen countryside, and you’ll soon discover thermal hot springs, geysers, and boiling mud pools all of which are surrounded by deep, deep snow (hence the nickname that this country has).

Things to do in Iceland include riding horses across the ice, spotting killer whales on board a chartered boat, hiking over glaciers and waterfalls, and of course, keeping watch for the Northern Lights themselves.

Don’t forget to head out of the countryside and into the city to explore what Reykjavik has to offer. There are many museums and great cafes and restaurants to enjoy.

The Moroccan Mountains

When you think of Morocco, you probably think of haggling in a marketplace or lying on a crowded beach. Although these things can and do happen, that’s not everything that Morocco has to offer. Mountain climbing is something that an adventurous family would enjoy in this African country. The High Atlas mountains are perfect for those who want to experience exactly what it is like.

When you have finished your climb, your vacation doesn’t have to be over! You can take a long hike through the country exploring Marrakesh, the Red City, and plenty of traditional Berber villages en route. Don’t forget the water sports either; travel to the town of Essaouira, and there are many to choose from including water skiing, jet skiing, windsurfing, and more.

See Indian Tigers

Northern India is a fascinating place. This is where the Taj Mahal is, and no trip to the country would be complete without seeing this magnificent palace. It is also where the wild tigers of Ranthambore are, and it is possible, with expert guides, to take a trek through the jungle to see if you can spot one. You’ll never forget it if you do – they are the most stunning of creatures!

Take a boat and watch the sunrise over the sacred river Ganges, and then take your pick of the many and varied activities open to you. If you are fascinated by filmmaking, then you can watch a Bollywood movies being made. Love cooking? Join in with a traditional curry cooking course. Sports are a big thing in India, and perhaps none so well-loved as cricket. If you can sit and watch a match, you’ll be amazed at the passion it stirs up. Take a ride in a rickshaw or on a camel. Go swimming in the river or a luxury hotel. Whatever makes your heart beat faster is what you should do.

Costa Rican Experience

Costa Rica has something for everyone, and the fact that it is only a small place means that you will be able to experience most (if not all) of the things you want to do and see. The Costa Rican rainforest is always an exciting place to visit, and you can go on a guided trek through the canopy of trees. You’ll see a variety of animals, birds, and insects and you’ll come away with a greater understanding of the country in general.
