Air Canada: Smoke in the cockpit caused an emergency in Toronto

AC771 operates from Newark, New Jersey to Toronto, Ontario. An Air Canada Embraer ERH-190AR aircraft with the registration number C-FLWH declared an emergency on this route minutes before its estimated landing at 9.38 pm at Toronto International Airport.

According to tweets received the captain was reporting smoke in the cockpit. The plane was lined up for runway 06L. Emergency services inspected the aircraft when it came to a stop on the runway.

According to updated tweets, no evacuation was necessary.
The plane left Newark at 8.27 pm instead of 7.15pm.
