Air China launches Sydney-Chengdu service

Air China starts Chengdu-Sydney service on November 11, 2016.

It will be Air China’s first nonstop route linking a city in west China to Australia, providing more flexible travel options for travelers in southwest China to Australia, and promoting the development of economy and tourism of, as well as trade and industrial cooperation between, Sichuan and China’s western regions and Oceania.

Chengdu is China’s famed “Land of Plenty”, while Sydney, Australia’s largest city and center of finance, transportation and tourism. Du Fu’s Thatched Cottage, spicy foods and Chuanju (a traditional local stage show) will be linked to white sails, mellow wines and Sydney Opera House across the vast Pacific Ocean, and the laid back vibe of Chengdu to the brilliant sunlight of the Oceania. There’s a lot to do and see.

In 2016, while expanding its global network with its hub in Beijing, Air China has also stepped up its efforts to build its regional hub in Chengdu, improving the regional networks of Chengdu and Chongqing. Relying on the extensive route network of the Star Alliance, Air China can easily fly passengers to 1330 airports in 193 countries.
