Air Madagascar may link Reunion to Guangzhou, China

Reports from Antananarivo suggest that Air Madagascar plans a return to China’s city of Guangzhou in 2017, using one of their Airbus A340-300 aircraft.

The routing will reportedly take the flight via Reunion’s capital of St. Denis from where it will fly on under a code share arrangement with Air Austral, Reunion’s own home airline.

The new service, unlike in the past when the flight routed via Bangkok, will be nonstop between St. Denis and Guangzhou and is due to launch in February next year, once all regulatory approvals have been secured.

Meanwhile has Air Mauritius signed a codeshare deal with Singapore Airlines, which will put their SQ code on Air Mauritius operated flights between the the two countries, further opening up their reach into the Asian network of their partner.

Mr. Pillay, CEO of Air Mauritius, expressed his satisfaction about the deal when he said: ‘Air Mauritius is pleased to announce Singapore Airlines as a codeshare partner as we look to further strengthen the Mauritius Singapore route. This new partnership will enable our customers to benefit from the networks of Air Mauritius and Singapore Airlines through Mauritius and Singapore‘.

The new deal was due to start earlier in November.
