Austrian Airlines launches first US west coast route at LAX

Austrian Airlines’ inaugural flight OS 81 will touchdown at Tom Bradley International Airport in Los Angeles at 1:30 pm on Monday, April 10 from Vienna, Austria. Then at 2:30, boarding will begin for flight OS 82 to Vienna.

This maiden flight of Austrian Airlines for its first-ever route to the US west coast will be operated 6 times a week from Los Angeles, California, to Vienna, Austria, using a Boeing 777 aircraft.

Not only is this opening up a direct pathway between Southern California and Austria, but it opens up for the airline all of Europe, including Central and Eastern Europe.

Austrian Airlines is Austria’s largest carrier and operates a global route network of approximately 130 destinations, being particularly dense in Central and Eastern Europe with 37 destinations.

Thanks to its favorable geographical location at the heart of Europe, the company’s hub at Vienna International Airport is an ideal gateway between East and West. Austrian Airlines is part of the Lufthansa Group, Europe’s largest airline group, and a member of the Star Alliance, the first global alliance of international airlines.
