Qatar Airways has been named Best Full Service Airline in Western Asia for the second year in a row at the Future Travel Experience (FTE) Asia Awards 2016 at a ceremony held in Singapore.

Qatar Airways received the significant accolade in recognition of its outstanding in-flight experience and dedication to premium customer service. Now in its eleventh year of operation, the FTE Asia Awards celebrate the leading airlines in the region and the winners are selected by a panel of industry experts and an extensive consultation process.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President of Customer Experience, Mr. Rossen Dimitrov, said: “It is an honor to have been named Best Full Service Airline in Western Asia for the second year in a row by the FTE’s panel of industry experts. Asia is an incredibly important market for Qatar Airways and this award underlines our strong commitment to the region. We are proud to provide the very best passenger experience across all cabins as we go places together with our consumers. I’d like to thank the excellent cabin crew for this distinguished award and for confirming Qatar Airways as the leading carrier in Western Asia.”

The accolade follows a string of other awards for Qatar Airways in 2016, including having recently been voted by travellers as Middle Eastern Airline of the Year at the Aviation Business Awards, along with being voted Best Middle Eastern Airline and Best Business Class at the Business Traveller Awards in London. Qatar Airways was also named World’s Best Business Class at the prestigious Skytrax Airline Awards 2016.

Qatar Airways is one of the fastest growing airlines in aviation history, operating one of the youngest fleets with an average age of five years. Whether travelling for business or leisure, passengers can choose from up to 3,000 entertainment options on Qatar Airways’ award winning in-flight entertainment platform, Oryx One. Enjoying an international menu inspired by a suite of celebrity chefs, passengers can also experience Qatar Airways’ famous Arabian hospitality from its award-winning Cabin Crew.

With a rapidly growing network of more than 150 destinations across six continents, Qatar Airways connects passengers globally through its state-of-the-art hub at Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha. A destination within itself, HIA was voted World’s Best Airport by the 2016 Skytrax awards, less than two years after opening. The airport is home to a bespoke luxury shopping experience, spa services, squash courts and even its own hotel. With a minimum connection time of 30 minutes, passengers have access to Qatar Airways’ 500 flights that arrive and depart HIA every day.

The FTE Asia Awards form part of the FTE Asia Expo 2016 and provide a platform for the industry’s most innovative solution providers across Asia-Pacific to showcase their latest products and ideas designed to help airlines improve the end-to-end customer experiences, reduce costs, increase revenues and enhance operational efficiency.
