Budapest Airport boosts Canadian connections

On course to record its best-ever year, Budapest Airport announces another significant development to its route network. Less than a year into service, Air Canada rouge has confirmed it will strengthen the airport’s links to Canada and increase its existing thrice-weekly operation to five-times weekly from 19 May 2017.

Following highly successful operations in its first few months, the leisure carrier’s additional connections to Toronto Pearson will mean close to 15,000 extra seats next year, increasing Budapest’s weekly capacity to Canada by 47%. Air Canada rouge’s additional services throughout S17 will give the carrier an increased year-on-year capacity of 66%.

Commenting on the additional capacity, Kam Jandu, CCO, Budapest Airport says: “Air Canada rouge experienced great success with us in 2016 and this latest frequency increase provides a clear indication of their continued commitment to ensure customers have more choice available to them when travelling to North America. These extra services will considerably boost our links to Canada and further enhance our growing status as a first-rate gateway.”
