US Airport Customs: Panic attacks, Shoving, Chaos.

Welcome to the United States of America, but not so fast.

It’s illegal to use your phone, but passengers were panicking. Passengers tweeted: Please help us! Customs in is shut down. Panic attacks. Shoving. Chaos. Fire hazard

A US Customs computer outage was affecting operations at airports nationwide on New Years Holiday Number 2, January 2nd  creating long lines of thousands of disgruntled holiday travelers.

Garrett Prather tweeted: Please let US Customs know the Miami airport could use a little help. Thousands of us waiting in a “line”.

This situation was reported Monday  evening at airport customs in Atlanta, Miami and Salt Lake City. Airports in Washington, Boston, New York City and Fort Lauderdale were also affected.

Airport officials and travelers across the country reported delays ranging from 30 minutes to two hours.
After four hours the system was back online.
US Customs and Border Protection processed international travelers through “alternative procedures” while the agency scrambled to repair what it called “a temporary outage with its computer systems. It waits to be seen who or what or why US customs computers were down this time.
