Charming inn claimed by raging wildfires in Tennessee

The longest-running AAA Four-Diamond property in Tennessee, Eight Gables Inn, was destroyed in the wildfires over the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Strong winds pushed the burning wildfires from the Great Smoky Mountains into Gatlinburg and nearby Pigeon Forge, destroying over 700 buildings in its path. Over 14,000 residents and visitors were evacuated.

Eight Gables Inn was built in 1991 and was part of a collection of inns and small hotels across the United States operated by Beachtree Properties, which stated that this was one of their most unique properties.

The Inn’s website reads: “With heavy hearts, we are sad to report that Eight Gables Inn has been completely destroyed by the devastating wildfires in Gatlinburg. Thank you for the memories.”

Beachtree Properties commended the work of property leaders and first responders who ensured that all staff and guests were safely evacuated.
