Cologne Bonn welcomes People’s Viennaline

Recording +12% monthly passenger growth in September, Cologne Bonn Airport continues to further enhance its developing route network welcoming the inaugural flight of People’s Viennaline.

Celebrating the arrival of its latest new airline partner today, after just 55 minutes flight time, People’s Viennaline has reconnected Cologne Bonn to Friedrichshafen once again. Operating a 10 times weekly service from the Lake Constance city in South Germany, the Austrian airline faces no direct competition on the airport pair.

Commenting at the launch, Michael Garvens, Chairman of the Management Board, Cologne Bonn Airport said: “We are pleased to welcome People’s Viennaline to our airport. With important economic and leisure appeal, directly linking North Rhine-Westphalia to the Lake Constance region is a real win for both business travellers and winter sports fans alike.”

Utilising the carrier’s 50-seat ERJ145’s on the 393-kilometre sector, People’s Viennaline will operate twice-daily service, Monday to Friday, offering passengers the chance to continue to the Swiss side of Lake Constance to St Gallen-Altenrhein Airport on an eight-minute transfer – considered one of the shortest international scheduled flights in the world.
