Deadly fire at Trump Tower New York: A sad day for America

Thank you to the amazing men and women of the NYFD who extinguished a fire in a residential apartment at @TrumpTower. The @FDNY and @NYPD are truly some of the most incredible people anywhere.

This is a tweet by Eric Trump on Saturday.  The FDNY said that six firefighters suffered injuries. Over 44 units and about 190 firefighters responded to a fire on the 50th floor of Trump Tower in Manhattan, New York.

A 67-year-old male, identified as Todd Brassner, was found “unconscious and unresponsive” on the 50th floor by New York City firefighters, police said. He was transported to Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No one from the U.S. first family was at the building at that time and their residential quarters were not effected.

One of the thousands of tweets said; “Many are turning this sad incident into a political discussion: It’s a pretty sad day in America when Trump Tower is on fire and liberals are celebrating. People could have died but for some reason it brings them joy. Reminds me of the time that the Twin Towers were on fire/collapsing and Radical Muslims were celebrating.”

The cause for the fire is under investigation.
