Eva Air plans new direct flight from Milan to Taipei

Eva Air will inaugurate a new flight between Milan Malpensa in Italy and Taipei, Taiwan, on February 19, 2020.

From Milan it will be operational on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays starting at 11 am and arriving at 6:30 am. From Taipei to Milan departing at 11:40 pm with arrival at 6:30 am. The flight will last 12 hours and 30 minutes from west to east and 13 hours and 50 minutes in the opposite direction.

“We will offer 4 weekly flights to connect the 2 cities with the Boeing 777-300ER, our flagship aircraft for long-haul flights … until the end of March,” said Manuel Le Goullec, Eva Air’s sales manager for passengers, France.

Eva Air has identified its main competitor, a couple of carriers today operating from Milan while From Taipei airport it will be possible to reach many countries and destinations with connections available from the Taipei hub, like 15 stopovers in Japan, or thanks to agreements with All Nippon Airways.

The Plan includes many points in Korea, PRC China, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Australia has the airport of Brisbane and New Zealand as per agreement.

A Marketing Plan foresees meetings and events first in the Milan area and then in Northern Italy to promote corporate, trade and tour operators. The missing Taiwan tourism office hampers the development of tourist flows from Italy to Taiwan.

Initially also Cargo specialist from MIlan Malpensa, Eva Air shall maintain the freight traffic – commented Tom Chen general manager of Italy of Eva Air –  “The goal is to load between 5/600 tons a month.” The B777/300ER holds have a capacity of 25 to 35 tons per flight.

The airline customer portfolio is well consolidated and includes many well-known Italian brands and a variety of goods from the automotive, consumer, food & beverage, fashion & luxury, energy and industry, Aerospace and defense whose destinations include Macau, South Korea and Japan other than Taipei.
