Shipbuilder Meyer Werft delivered World Dream to Dream Cruises with the traditional Changing of the Flag ceremony where the Meyer Werft and German flags were lowered, and the flags for Dream Cruises and the Bahamas were raised to signify the official transfer of the ship to Dream Cruises.

“This is an extremely proud moment for Genting Cruise Lines as we welcome our second new ship to the Dream Cruises fleet. As Asia’s Luxury Cruise Line, Dream Cruises is the consolidation of Genting Hong Kong’s 20-plus years’ of Asian cruise industry experience combined with the company’s internationally-acclaimed luxury cruise expertise and long heritage of award-winning service and hospitality,” said Mr Kent Zhu, President of Genting Cruise Lines. “By doubling Dream Cruises fleet with the addition of World Dream, we are delighted to be offering our guests and valued travel partners even more diverse itineraries featuring new, authentic destination experiences in the Asia Pacific.”

Dream Cruises was designed as the first-ever Asian luxury cruise line and caters specifically to the large and rapidly growing high-end market in China and Asia. Since its launch, the brand has become a pacesetter in the cruise industry in the region, meeting the needs of the ‘emerging generation’ of confident, independently-minded and affluent Asian travelers.

With the completion of the official handover ceremony from Meyer Werft to Dream Cruises, World Dream, sister ship to Genting Dream, will begin her epic ocean voyage that will take her from Germany to Gibraltar, through the Mediterranean Sea and the Suez Canal, across the Indian Ocean before arriving at her dual homeports in Hong Kong and Guangzhou (Nansha), China on 17 November and 19 November 2017, respectively. When World Dream enters service and joins Genting Dream, Dream Cruises will have the largest market share of newest available lower berths deployed year-round in Asia.

Upon her launch, the brand new ship will take guests on a tropical and cultural journey in Asia with specially designed voyages taking in sun-drenched, popular destinations to escape the winter blues. 6-day/5-night cruises to Manila and Boracay in the Philippines beginning from 19 November this year will alternate with 6-day/5-night journeys to Ho Chi Minh and Nha Trang in Vietnam from 3 December to provide tantalizing options for both local and international guests until the end of March 2018.

“With the timely introduction of World Dream, Dream Cruises will offer more choices of popular vacation destinations while continuing to deliver great value as Asia’s luxury cruise line.” said Mr Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruises. “World Dream will build on the learnings and momentum established by her sister ship Genting Dream. Our ‘Dream Maker’ crew members are excited and ready to exceed our guests’ expectations – we are stronger as a ‘fleet’ – and always remain Asian at Heart and International in Spirit.”

Dream Cruises’ newest addition, World Dream has been conceived as a floating high-end, integrated resort at sea leveraging on the parent company Genting Hong Kong’s core expertise in both land and sea based businesses. The debut of World Dream will further enhance Dream Cruises’ capacity to offer a broad spectrum of multi-generational programs and facilities for guests, highlighted by exemplary heartfelt Asian hospitality and a market leading crew to guest ratio.

World Dream will provide guests with the highest levels of service and spacious comfort that Dream Cruises has become known, with over 70 per cent of staterooms featuring private balconies and a selection of connecting rooms catering to extended families and groups. World Dream will also feature the well-received Dream Palace “ship within a ship” concept offering more suites and all-inclusive options and privileges. Several new restaurant concepts along with new entertainment options that combine both high tech and high touch experiences will be announced shortly. The recognized Crystal Life Spa brand will operate both the Western Spa and Asian Spa on World Dream.
