The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) is proud to announce it has received the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold award in the “Marketing Media – Social Media Campaign” category for its #instaGuam campaign. GVB won a PATA Gold award last year for the Shop Guam e-Festival mobile campaign.

GVB accepted the award at the PATA Gold Awards Luncheon and Presentation on September 14, 2018 at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), in Langkawi, Malaysia. The awards ceremony attracted more than 800 industry executives from the Asia Pacific region. A PATA judging panel reviewed 200 entries from 87 organizations and individuals worldwide.

“We are very honored to have received this prestigious award from PATA for our work with the Visit Guam 2018 #instaGuam campaign,” said GVB President and CEO Nathan Denight. “Our team of professionals works very hard to promote and market Guam to the world, which in turn benefits the people of Guam and our island home.”

The #instaGuam theme for the Visit Guam 2018 campaign positions Guam as an instant vacation destination from major Asian cities and encourages user-generated content to promote the island. The campaign aims to leverage visitor stories and voices to tell the world that Guam tourism is safe, family-friendly and ready to welcome new visitors.

“This PATA Gold award is another win for our beautiful island,” said Director of Global Marketing Pilar Laguaña. “We thank PATA for recognizing our efforts, as well as our industry partners for contributing to make Guam a better place to live, work, and visit.”

The #instaGuam theme will continue into next year as part of the Visit Guam 2019 global campaign.
