Hawaii Tourism Authority leadership in big trouble

Leading Hawaii tourism seems to be an insider job trained to keep outsiders out. Abuse of their position sums it up. Top officials of the Hawaii Tourism Authority are in trouble. The official Ethics Commission document notes, “The alleged violations came to the attention of the Commission by way of an anonymous complaint.”

A $12,000 fine against Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) President & CEO George Szigeti; former COO Randy Baldemor (Szigeti’s personal hire), Jadie Goo, HTA Director of marketing for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and David Uchiyama, the former HTA VP of Brand Management.

Keeping outsiders out and using their position to do so – this was the modus of operation by top leaders of the Hawaii tourism industry.
