Hurricane Dorian Category 5 next? Catastrophic damage will occur

Hurricane Dorian is now a category 4 storm with winds of 130 mph. Never in the history did a hurricane develope from category one to four in just one day – and it’s not stopping.

Threatening portions of the Bahamas the storm is on a straight pass to Florida. Some experts now worry Hurricane Dorian could become a category  5 storm when it hits the U.S. State of Florida.

The National Hurricane center stipulates a category 5 storm as:

Catastrophic damage will occur: A high percentage of framed homes will be destroyed, with total roof failure and wall collapse. Fallen trees and power poles will isolate residential areas. Power outages will last for weeks to possibly months. Most of the area will be uninhabitable for weeks or months.

The current category 4 is defined as: Catastrophic damage will occur: Well-built framed homes can sustain severe damage with loss of most of the roof structure and/or some exterior walls. Most trees will be snapped or uprooted and power poles downed. Fallen trees and power poles will isolate residential areas. Power outages will last weeks to possibly months. Most of the area will be uninhabitable for weeks or months.
