ICC Sydney CEO Geoff Donaghy updates

Geoff Donaghy, Chief Executive Officer of ICC Sydney had a message for the May 1 holiday on the Status of the convention industry in Sydney

He said:
ICC Sydney Our commitment to clients has resulted in the delivery of 213 events and almost 450,000 people through our doors since opening on 20 December 2016. The feedback we have received reflects our ability to successfully deliver world class standards at our premier venue, and we take great value in the honest and open discussions we are able to hold with clients. We are a diverse team from a variety of backgrounds and we work in partnership with our clients to deliver success.

Over the past month, ICC Sydney has received external recognition and praise with the venue being awarded Australia’s Best Infrastructure Project at the National Infrastructure Awards. As the epicenter of the 20-hectare transformation of Darling Harbour, ICC Sydney has presented the nation with a new emblematic piece of business events and tourism infrastructure. The award recognised ICC Sydney for its design excellence, construction timeline and outstanding financial performance.

Further to this, ICC Sydney Theatre achieved top 50 ranking for theatre ticket sales in the prestigious global first-quarter listing released by Pollstar, the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry. This recognition places ICC Sydney amongst illustrious venues and also demonstrates our strong financial performance.

The month ahead sees a continuing range of events held at ICC Sydney including the MEA Reeboot National Conference, Australian Tourism Exchange, CeBit 2017 and the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand 2017 Annual Scientific Meeting.

Our calendar of bookings is increasing week by week and we are very pleased to already have returning clients.
