Increased connectivity between India and Rwanda

India and Rwanda have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) which will enable air connectivity between the two nations.

RwandAir will start direct flights between Kigali and Mumbai in April of this year, as an outcome of the MOU that was signed during the visit of Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari to Rwanda this week.

The new flight connection will enhance exchanges between the two countries. Rwanda has also removed the need for a travel visa for diplomatic and official passport holders from India, as per another MOU.

Rwanda is keen to promote tourism and wants Indian movies to be shot in its country, which will increase interest in the country and boost arrivals, said Indian officials.
