India organizations sign tourism MOU

The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) and the School of Hospitality and Tourism Studies, D Y Patil University Mumbai, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for three years to collaborate in the Masters program so that the course becomes more relevant for the industry, and there is focus on practical aspects, along with theory.

The university offers a two-year-long post graduate program. The varsity was set up in 2002. Both TAAI leaders and varsity officials are enthusiastic about the MOU, as this is expected to produce better qualified and equipped professionals.

Jay Bhatia, TAAI Treasurer, will be the link between the university school and the industry.

It has long been a demand that the academic world and the industry have closer links, and the latest MOU, signed on December 2, is expected to contribute towards this goal.
