India Tourism focusing on less popular destinations

India is focusing on lesser-known destinations at the ongoing India International Trade Fair, where the Ministry of Tourism pavilion was opened on November 14 by Vinod Zuthsi, Tourism Secretary.

The pavilion is showcasing tourist places which are near the more popular ones, so that more people will go there and spread the word about the benefits of tourism.

Domestic tourism is a very important part of tourism. From 1991 to 2015, growth on an annual basis has been 13.63 percent.

In 2015, it grew by 11.63 percent to reach 1431.97 million visits.

The tourism pavilion has the Taj Mahal and Valley of Flowers as backdrops for taking selfies.
