India’s government believes people with disabilities should have equal rights to travel like all others. This is the basic philosophy behind the initiative for the launch of Enable Travel, powered by the old and reputed Cox and Kings travel agency.
A travel agency was showcased in New Delhi, India, on March 16 at an unusual and unique meeting where several wheel-chair bound individuals and others with hearing or vision impairment were present.
The message was clear: We want to travel despite our handicaps.
Cox and Kings has worked hard for a year to start and curate programs and itineraries, with the help of experts. Further, suitable equipment has been lined up, said Karan Anand, Head of Relationships for Cox and Kings, adding that the venture was initiated by the disabled, for the disabled.
This all falls in line with the government campaign of “accessible India,” for which both domestic and inbound travelers are the initial target market.
Accessories like ramps, wheelchairs, and trained staff form part of the homework done for the launch of the company.
Turning travel dreams into reality is the idea behind this new venture.
