India and UK Tourism sign MOU

Trade and tourism between India and the UK are set to get a boost, with the signing of a MOU between the two countries.

Lord Ahmad, visiting UK Minister, and Ashok Raju, Indian Civil Aviation Minister, signed the pact, which removes curbs on additional scheduled flights from cities like Chennai and Kolkata.

It is now for the commercial airlines to see when and where the added capacity will be created, so that trade and tourism increases.

In 2015, India sent as many as 422,000 visitors to the UK, contributing 433 million pounds to the economy.
