Indian Association of Tour Operators launches membership drive

The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has embarked on a drive to boost its membership, which at present stands at an impressive 1,600. No target has been fixed, however, from the northeast, agents will not have to pay the entry fee, as an incentive to join.

Senior IATO leaders said on April 6 during a monthly meeting that they expected about 40 operators from the northeastern states of India will join the association.

The annual convention of IATO will be held in Bhubaneaswar, Odisha, in September.

The members were informed at the meeting about e-visa liberalization and IndiGo airline, and Pawan Hans, a helicopter service company based in New Delhi, gave a presentation on its services.
