Oregon, a popular US state, is keen to boost tourist arrivals from India so that the visitors can enjoy the many attractions and activities that the state has to offer.
Todd Davidson, CEO of the Oregon Tourism Commission, was in India to spread this message and told this correspondent that adventure, hiking, natural beauty, and public beaches were some reasons to head for Oregon. Travel Oregon has won many awards under Todd’s leadership. He is confident that working with Brand USA will further boost tourism from India and other countries.
He said the state was a culinary delight for visitors, with chefs serving the best of seafood. Rafting, wind surfing, and wine tours were also attracting tourists from all over the world. There were over 25 golf courses to play, and visits and stays at the ranches were other possibilities as was tours of the 8,700 wineries.
Delta will link the US west coast with Portland-London flights from May 26, 2017.
Tourism is a $10.8 billion industry in Oregon, employing 105,000 Oregonians.
