Indonesia targets India tourists: Sets 700,000 arrivals challenge

Encouraged by the healthy growth in arrivals from India, Indonesia has mounted a campaign to do even better. This is reflected in the ongoing sales mission to multi cities to increase awareness of the destination.

The target set for 2018 is 700,000 which is a challenge, said senior tourism people, adding that VITO, Visit Indonesia Tourism Office, in India was doing a commendable job to promote the country and boost arrivals.

Leading attractions and agents, as well as food outlets, are among those on the sales mission, which is going to Jaipur, Lucknow, and Chandigarh, to market tourism apart from traditional markets.
