InterContinental Bucharest: Where people take priority

InterContinental Bucharest is a luxury landmark, located downtown in the Romania’s Capital and unique for its stunning views from the guest room balconies.

The hotel features 257 spacious and elegantly furnished rooms and suites, with premium quality amenities. Designed in a contemporary style, the Club InterContinental Lounge on the 21st floor is the most modern private setting for business and relaxation. Health Club 22nd Floor – the highest in town – is the perfect place to relax and have some time off. Modigliani Restaurant is one of the top Italian restaurants in the city, while the energetic Corso Brasserie is home of the best Sunday Brunch in Bucharest.

The hotel was re-certified this year, having met the Green Globe Standard 1.7, a great achievement for the entire hotel team proving their continued commit to run a sustainable hotel.

During the winter season, the Christmas tree in the hotel lobby was designed from recycled vine-branches and will be used this year as well. During the Christmas corporate party season, the main terrace of the hotel, Opera Terrace, became our winter fairy tale spot, adorned with natural fire-trees ready to be planted around the hotel once Spring had come.

Since the arrival of Spring, and to give a fresh perspective to the guests, the hotel features a multi-sensorial and naturally luxurious welcome experience. The water fountain in the lobby as well as the seasonal flower arrangements now offer guests a relaxing and energizing feeling all day long.

As part of the hotel’s staff welfare efforts, the associates’ restaurant has been improved, by making it greener with plants as well as with more salads and light options for healthy daily meals. Another highly appreciated initiative is the massage session offered at the beginning of every month by two sight-impaired masseuses from Light into Europe Charity. The hotel has partnered with this organization for almost 10 years, supporting their annual charity balls.

To offer the hotel’s associates the opportunity to speak about their experience and level of satisfaction at work, weekly focus group meetings are held, where colleagues from all hotel departments are invited to share their feedback and receive answers to their questions. Furthermore, to offer every colleague the chance to experience InterContinental’s service excellence, the hotel organizes a monthly “Lunch with the GM” at the Corso Brasserie, inviting all colleagues celebrating their birthday during that month to come join in.

Recently celebrating 70 years of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and InterContinental Bucharest’s 45th year, the hotel took the opportunity to invite the business community to enjoy, the “Discover the InterContinental Life” event. On this occasion, the new General Manager, Mr. Lior Bebera, was introduced to the local business community. The event was a cultural and culinary journey through the six destinations that General Manager Bebera has activated during his career, including Bucharest.

“We are very proud of our Green Globe re-certification, as it proves that our focus on running a greener hotel is continuous and consistent. Nowadays to run a greener business is not just about water consumption or waste management, these are the basics all companies should be compliant with. To run a sustainable business is very much about genuinely taking care of people being clients or colleagues or owners,” said Lior Bebera, General Manager, InterContinental Bucharest.
