Jamaica’s Tourism Minister meets with new National Cruise Council

Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett issues his charge to the Ministry’s newly-appointed National Cruise Council (NCC) – council member Stephen Facey; NCC Chairman Michael Belnavis; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Jennifer Griffith, and the Ministry’s Director of Tourism Relations Denton Edwards.

The occasion was the inaugural meeting of the National Cruise Council at the New Kingston offices of the Ministry of Tourism.  The council was formed to support the enhancement and protection of the cruise experience in Jamaica’s ports and aid the Ministry’s efforts to significantly boost visitor arrivals and tourism earnings.


During the meeting, Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, used the opportunity to share his vision for Jamaica’s cruise industry and the approach he would like the new council to take in order to achieve its objectives of boosting visitor arrivals and tourism earnings.
