Kerala mounts campaign to lure domestic tourists

Kerala, the southern state in India, has mounted a campaign to get more domestic tourists to the State, which was hit by floods last year but is now again in business with renewed vigor and zeal.

As part of a partnership meeting, Kerala Tourism is organizing a series of events  in 10 cities. Today, on January 29, stakeholders interacted with Delhi agents to reveal products on offer. Earlier, Chandigarh and Ludhiana were covered and in the next few weeks, the suppliers – hotels, agents, and others – will go to Jaipur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, and Madurai.

Domestic arrivals rose by 11.39 percent in 2017 and international arrivals by 5.15 percent.

The State has been constantly winning awards at home and abroad.

Kannur is the 4th international airport in the State, opened recently. Malabar will become a new gateway to the State because of this development.

A cultural show depicting the art forms was an added attraction at the meeting, where 22 stakeholders met with agents.
