Kids Euro Festival returns to Washington, DC

Kids Euro Festival, one of the largest performing arts festivals for children in America, returns to the Washington, DC metro area October 26 to November 6, 2016.

The 9th edition of this popular annual festival features free, family-friendly performances, concerts, movies and workshops that provide a flavor of European arts and culture – no passport required!

More than 65 activities, designed for children up to twelve years old and their families, will be presented by the 28 Member States of the European Union and more than 20 local and national cultural institutions. This festival is made possible by the EU Delegation to the United States in cooperation with the European-American Cultural Foundation, Washington Performing Arts, the DC Arts & Humanities Education Collaborative, DC Public Schools and DC Public Libraries.

“Kids Euro Festival entertains thousands of children by offering them a unique opportunity to experience some of Europe’s best performers right here at home,” said European Union Ambassador to the United States David O’Sullivan. “This joint cultural diplomacy initiative of the European Union embassies celebrates European diversity with all these fantastic performances which, hopefully, entertain as much as they educate.”

This festival features performances, workshops, and film screenings for the general public as well as library activities, shows for school groups, and KEEN Day — a full day of events for children with disabilities. This special collaboration between the European Union and the United States transforms the capital region once more into an action-packed cultural adventure. All events are free, but most require reservations.
