“Life Time Achievement” in the tourism and hospitality sector

Mr. H.M. Hakim Ali, a pioneer in the tourism and hospitality sector in Bangladesh, has been awarded the “Life Time Achievement Award” by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, which quotes:

“In grateful recognition of his visionary guidance and unwavering leadership in the Tourism and Hospitality Sector in Bangladesh. The legacy will be remembered by many generations to come.”

In addition to the above, he was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by “The Bangladesh Monitor,” a fortnightly journal on aviation, tourism, hotel, and restaurant, etc. on account of his continuous dedicative services and performance rendered for the development and promotion of tourism in the country. The award was handed over to him by the Honorable Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, attended by the Editor of The Bangladesh Monitor, Mr. Kazi Wahidul Alam, at a ceremony arranged by the Monitor authority.

Mr. H.M. Hakim Ali dedicated his life for development and promotion of tourism in the country and has rendered his thoughtful services relentlessly in this regard for 45 years. In recognition of his long effort,  he was elected unanimously as the President of the South Asia Tourism Federation (SATF) by SAARC countries’ representatives in 2015 to speed up tourism in SAARC countries unitedly. He is also President of the Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA) and CEO of the Hotel Agrabad, Chittagong. It is hoped that under his able leadership, the tourism sector will flourish in the country.

The Bangladesh International Hotel Association is a member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP).
