Livingstone International Cultural and Arts Festival set to energize tourists & locals

The Livingstone International Cultural and Arts Festival (LICAF) is back, and the festival is full of outstanding events that give tourists and locals something to look forward to every year.

The Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) has set the dates for the LICAF for May 24-26, 2018. The festival program is as exciting as ever with events ranging from public performances by various cultural groups to street carnivals and networking cocktails.

ZTA has partnered with Zambian Breweries to ensure that Livingstone is activity packed during the Freedom Day long weekend. This partnership will allow attendees to watch the various cultural groups from all the 10 provinces of Zambia, indulge in Zambian traditional cuisines, and last but not least to celebrate the day of thunder which will be filled with fun activities.

The celebrations will begin with an Official Opening Cocktail on the evening of May 24, followed by a mesmerizing experience on May 25. The activities on that day will include traditional food tasting, cultural performances, and the Day of Thunder. On May 26, the final day of the festival, the cultural performances will be brought to the streets as dancers stroll through Livingstone in a dazzling 3-kilometer carnival procession through the city of Livingstone.

As if that is not enough, there will be a lunar rainbow at Victoria Falls on Sunday, May 27. Viewing will be from 2024-0018 hours at the Victoria Falls site.
