Santikos Collection is delighted to share details of a huge second phase of renovations that are nearly finished at their stunning property, Marpunta Resort on the Greek island of Alonnisos which re-opens on 9th May 2018.
2017 saw the launch of Marpunta Resort into the UK market following a £3M refurbishment which saw all rooms refurbished and upgraded. Set in a private pine forest and surrounded by the blue waters of the Aegean, Marpunta Resort features 104 rooms, 15 Family Suites, farm-to-table cuisine and 3 private beaches, the property evokes a beautifully traditional and simple Greek-chic atmosphere and a wealth of activities for family and friends to enjoy.

When Marpunta Resort re-opens on 9th May 2018, guests will benefit from over £300K of renovations that will complement the huge sum spent last year on upgrading all rooms & suites. The entrance to the hotel is being transformed and they will have changed and upgraded all the roads and paths within the hotel grounds, along with landscaping all the gardens. The biggest area however that will benefit from this year’s renovations is the pool area. The pool is undergoing a complete re-design and expansion with additional outdoor bathrooms and changing rooms and a brand-new pool bar being added. New flooring, loungers and furniture will offer a superior relaxation experience for guests. Marpunta Resort’s popular lunchtime hotspot, the ‘Taverna’ on the beach is being completely revamped and will re-open with a new look and mouthwatering new menu to match.

Originally an old fisherman’s village, Marpunta Resort is located on the island of Alonnisos, the most Easterly island of the Sporades. With a population of under 1,000 and because of its more isolated position, the island provides a serenity and simplicity that has all but disappeared across other Greek islands. Alonnisos is surrounded by Greece’s first national marine park and has a wealth of private and secluded beaches. With cobblestone streets and breathtaking views, the traditional ‘Old Town’ of Alonnisos is set high on a hill is utterly charming.
