Mauritius and Seychelles on a consolidated tourism path

The Indian Ocean Islands of Mauritius and the Seychelles both have successful tourism industries and it is not surprising that the tourism leaders of their two neighboring islands meet whenever possible.

Xavier-Luc Duval, the Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius recently received Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture at his Port Louis Offices when the Seychelles Minister was in Mauritius for a Vanilla islands briefing on Cruise Ship development in the Indian Ocean. Mauritius and the Seychelles have both worked together within the Vanilla islands to ensure that the Indian Ocean is recognized as the new Cruise Ship Destination as this region offers diversity not found anywhere else.  The Mauritius meeting also saw the participation of Pascal Viroleau, the CEO of the Vanilla Islands and Kevin Ramkaloan of the MTPA (Mauritius Tourism Promotional Authority) and was the opportunity to have an update on the successes made by the regional organization in the cruise ship market. Mr Xavier-Luc Duval is the current President of the Vanilla islands.

Discussions during the tête-a-tête between Mr Duval and Mr St.Ange centered on the existing relationship and the tourism leaders desire to see the islands of the Indian Ocean work even closer together in the filed of tourism for the benefit of both the Mauritians and the Seychellois.
