The tourism potential of Russian capital will be presented by the officials of Moscow Department of Sport and Tourism in the America’s worldwide exhibition IMEX that will take place from 10 to 12 October and is known as a crucial event in the tourism industry.

A press conference with participation of Inessa Grig, Head of tourist activities coordination office in Moscow Department of Sport and Tourism, is being organized on 11 October.

During the press conference the American representatives of business and media will discover Russian tourism industry, its importance for Russia and Moscow and improving local infrastructure and preparing for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup. Russian information booth in Las Vegas will put you face to face with the representatives оf Russian companies such as Tsar Voyages, Global Russia DMC and PCO, Intourist, Russian Railways, MB Prestige, ABT — ACTE Russia.

The record tourists flow was registered in the Russian capital in 2016. 17.5 million people came to Moscow. 100 000 people arrived to Moscow airports from the USA. During the New Year holidays the city received almost 150 per cent more tourists than in 2010. According to a recent survey, 33.3 % foreigners usually come to Moscow to see the objects of culture, 28.5 % of trips are connected with business and 6% foreigners come to Russia with different aims.

About 2 million people stay at Moscow hotels during their business trips every year. Russian capital hosts more than 500 major exhibitions, forums and conferences. Moscow is to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup next year and is making preparations to receive more than one million of football fans, who are going to arrive to the top sport event of the year. Football matches will take place in the Spartak Stadium and the Luzhniki Grand Sport Arena.

Moscow has been rated the best city for business and event tourism. Rim, Madrid, Paris Singapour and some other tourist mega cities are leaving behind Moscow. Some experts predict that the business tourism market in Moscow will double the rate of growth.

Experts from the “Lonely Planet” listed Moscow among ten most popular tourist destinations.
International and Russian rating agencies place importance on tourist, cultural and sport potential of Moscow.

Russian capital hosts more than 20 festivals every year: Easter Gift Festival, Moscow Jam Festival, Golden Autumn gifts Festival, Journey to Christmas Festival in winter, International Fireworks Festival, Victory Parade, Circle of Light Moscow International Festival, Historical reenactment festival, the famous historical and cultural Spasskaya Tower Festival on Red Square, a military band marchpast and dance show.

Nightlife in Moscow is romantic and bright. Guests can visit fashionable restaurants, comfortable local bars and night clubs to every taste and budget. Local authorities are focusing on development of public space and the largest urban upgrading over the past 50 years. As s result Moscow will be able to show the guests unique tourist objects. A new flagship tourist centre will open in Zaryadye Park this fall. It is supposed to be a point of attraction for tourists. Currently, Moscow authorities are compiling the Kremlin Ring system of cultural-educational guided tours along streets around Square. This will make it possible to merge the park with the main pedestrian tourist routes.

Most of sightseeing routs in Moscow include Tverskaya Street, Arbat Street, The State Tretyakov Gallery, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Moscow State Music Conservatory and run from the Red Square and the Kremlin – the symbols of Russia and Moscow. The weekend tours are very popular.
