At the beginning of 2017, the property replaced existing lighting with 80% LED lighting in guest rooms, back of house areas, offices, meeting rooms, the lobby bar, restaurant and outdoor areas. In doing so a great deal of energy is saved on a daily basis. In addition, the centralized automation system controls air conditioning units in all guest rooms. This AC system automatically turns itself off to conserve energy when room windows are left open.
Staff actively support eco-friendly activities such as waste segregation. For example, as well as separating recyclable and non-recyclable waste in guest areas, they also separate all waste in back of house areas.
Water usage is routinely monitored to reduce consumption. Tap water economizers have been installed in guest areas that save tons of water every year.
