Neil Poisson named General Manager of The Fess Parker in Santa Barbara

Hilton announced the appointment of Neil Poisson as general manager of The Fess Parker, a DoubleTree By Hilton Resort located in Santa Barbara.

Poisson will oversee all day-to-day operations of the beautiful, 360-room Mission-style beachfront resort on 24 acres – the city’s largest – named after the American television icon, Fess Parker. He will report to Hilton Area Vice President, Michael Dunne.

Poisson will provide leadership for 300 employees in all aspects of resort operations including guest services, food & beverage, sales & marketing, reservations, revenue management, human resources and administration.

Most recently, Poisson was general manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose where he directed daily operations of the 505-room full-service hotel with 48,000 square feet of meeting space. Prior to that, Poisson was at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu where he served as the executive assistant manager and was responsible for the overall operations of this 2,860 room full-service hotel. Previously, he was with the Hilton family in San Francisco where he worked as the resident manager of one of the largest hotels in the Western U.S. — Hilton San Francisco Union Square.

A hospitality industry veteran with over 30 years of management experience, including 20 years with Hilton, Poisson has taken a lead role in brand conversions, renovation projects and new openings. His diverse background includes management positions with full and select service hotels, major convention hotels and resorts.  He also served as vice president of operations for San Diego, California-based Packard Hospitality Group and Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Marcus Hotels Corporation.

Poisson graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and is an active member of the American Hotel Lodging Association. He is an avid sports fan and married with two adult children who also chose a career in the hospitality industry.
