New faster train introduced on New Delhi-Mumbai route

A new faster tri-weekly Rajdhani Express train has been introduced on the New Delhi-Mumbai route, which will cut the travel time by about two hours, from the present Rajdhani trains.

The new service will be hauled by two locomotives for better acceleration, deceleration and higher speed.

The new train will operate from Nizamuddin (Delhi) on Thursday, Saturday and Monday, and from Bandra Terminus(Mumbai) on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. .

Flexi fare will not be levied on booking of ticket in this train.

It may be recalled that India and Japan have recently signed a pact to introduce bullet trains on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route.
