Ottawa to host 2017 Juno Awards

On 2 April 2017, Ottawa will stage the annual Juno music awards. Now in its 46th year, the ceremony recognises the best in Canadian talent with categories spanning Pop, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, Electronic, R&B, Soul, Dance and Classical music.

The most decorated winners to date are Alanis Morissette with 13 awards, Bryan Adams with 18, Celine Dion with 20 and Anne Murray with 23.

Each year the Juno Awards are hosted by a different city, with Ottawa set play host for the third time. In the week preceding April’s ceremony at Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre, there will be series of concerts held at venues throughout the city showcasing the best in Canadian music.

During this time, known as ‘Juno Week’, visitors to the capital will have the opportunity to take part in a number of specially arranged musically themed activities and events organised by the Ottawa 2017 Bureau.
