Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort : New GM Andy Chang

Hainan, the Hawaii in China – and Park Hyatt is part of it. Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort has announced the appointment of General Manager Andy Chang, who will continue to drive the hotel toward being the most popular resort on Hainan island, while ensuring the successfl pre-opening of Andaz Sanya Sunny Bay Resort.

Mr. Chang began his career with Hyatt in 1991 in his home town of Taipei at the Grand Hyatt as a Front Office Clerk. He continued to grow his career in the Rooms Division in various locations such as Guam and Incheon before moving to Grand Hyatt Shanghai as Hotel Manager. Then he was selected as General Manager for Hyatt Regency Jinan and has been in his most recent role as General Manager for Hyatt Regency Wuxi during its pre-opening and opening.

“I am honored to be selected as General Manager of Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort and to oversee the upcoming Andaz Sunny Bay Resort’s pre-opening. The entire Sunny Bay Resort will truly be a unique and exclusive destination for people travelling to Hainan Island and I am pleased to be part of the team moving it forward”, said Mr. Chang.

Mr. Chang graduated from Taipei University and majored in Economics, which gave him analytical skills and a macro perspective that have benefitted his hotel management duties.

In his spare time, he likes swimming and other water sports to keep healthy and energetic, making charming Sunny Bay an ideal place for him to explore.
