Prince Harry’s love for Nepal

Deepak R. Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board, left the eTN Nepal Tourism Summit Roadshow in Prague on Monday to fly to London. His departure was kept as a secret, as the Nepal Embassy had arranged an important meeting with a true friend of Nepal Tourism – Prince Harry.

The royal made an emotional visit to Nepal back in March 2016, when he traveled to Kathmandu, Bardia and the Pokhara area. It was during this tour that he saw the effects of the 2015 earthquake and visited with displaced families. He even extended his trip to help rebuild a school destroyed by the quake. On that trip, the Prince also visited the Gurkha headquarters in Pokhara, the Kanti Children’s Hospital, and officially opened the Nepal Girl Summit that works to promote gender equality.

Deepak R. Joshi made it to his meeting in London yesterday with Prince Harry where the prince wanted to know about Nepal’s progress in tourism.

Mr. Joshi said he was amazed and excited by Prince Harry’s curiosity to know about Nepal’s tourism progress. Prince Harry told Mr. Joshi, “I miss Nepal… [I would] love to visit again.” The prince also said, “Let’s push more for Nepal’s tourism.”

The Tourism Board CEO said he is very appreciative of Prince Harry’s love and support towards Nepal, the Nepalese people, and Nepal’s tourism. He added, that the prince came across as very open-hearted.
