RwandAir is going places in Africa not yet London and Mumbai

Traffic right applications are in place for RwandAir to get approvals from India and the UK to fly to Mumbai and London but in the meantime are the two brand new Airbus A330’s – a Dash 200 and a Dash 300 – not sitting idle in Kigali.

The airline has deployed the new wide body birds three times a week to Johannesburg, three times a week to Lagos and Accra, three times a week from Kigali via Mombasa to Dubai and daily on the nonstop route to Dubai.

This effort has not gone unnoticed as passenger numbers have risen correspondingly as travelers enjoy the comfort of an Airbus A330 with state of the art entertainment, WiFi on board and a three class configuration of Business, Premium Economy, and Economy.

Sources close to the airline expect final permits for London and Mumbai to come through early in the new year and it is presently anyone’s guess which destination will come on line first, either the UK or India.

No further information is available at this stage about RwandAir’s planned flights to the United States for which arguably a third wide bodied aircraft may be needed, something worth watching out for on the Airbus website when new commitments are announced there and names added to orders published but without revealing the name of the airlines just yet.
