Seychelles Tourism Board joins Thomas Cook at Salon des Seniors Réunion

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) co-branded with tour operator Thomas Cook Reunion to take part in a trade fair known as Salon des Seniors Réunion. The trade fair, which is the second of its kind to be organized, was held between March 10-12.

It was the first time that Seychelles took part in this trade fair in Reunion and STB was being represented there by senior marketing executive Bernadette Honore. Seychelles aimed at widening its prospects with the senior travelers in Reunion.

Salon des Seniors was an ideal platform to allow tap into the senior segment market in Reunion, with over 170, 000 elderly people. Over 40 associations across Reunion island took part in the three-day fair. Salon des Seniors attracted a large number of elderly people at the exhibition hall in Saint Denis, whereby they had the chance to visit the over 100 exhibits ranging from leisure, health and travel.

A large number of elderly visited the trade fair during the three days where the Seychelles Tourism Board stand and Thomas Cook recorded a number of proposals for group travelers and individuals wishing to visit Seychelles.

Thomas Cook was proposing promotional packages for different destinations with Seychelles featuring in exclusivity at competitive rates for island hopping. STB promoted the destination and also convinced the seniors to make Seychelles their next holiday destination. The associations of the elderly in Reunion organize one or two holidays yearly to different destinations for their members. The trade fair gave STB the chance to network with the presidents of the associations, who then present the destinations to their members.
