Seychelles Tourism Board office in London starts 2017 with Telegraph Show

The Seychelles Tourism Board UK began the new year with its presence at the Telegraph Show held at the London Excel held from January 13-15, 2017. Ms. Tinaz Wadia, Manager, and Ms. Eloise Vidot, Marketing Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board in London, was in attendance representing the destination on its dedicated Seychelles stand.

The Telegraph Travel Show was co-located with the Telegraph Cruise Show and the and The London Boat Show permitting visitors access to all the 3 shows on one ticket. The Telegraph Travel Show focuses on 4 core areas namely: Luxury Travel, Cruise market, Consumer Travel as well as Activity & Adventure targeting the affluent AB, ABC1 consumers.

The show’s return to Excel, London provided the consumer with various travel experiences through expert talks, advice hubs and numerous exhibitors. The new dimension to the show this year was the “Food and Wine theatre” showcasing celebrity chefs and expert sommeliers guiding the consumer through holiday inspired flavors.

Various tourism boards were also present at the show including Sri Lanka, Antigua & Barbuda, Caribbean, Cuba, Jamaica, Uganda as well as travel companies such as Kuoni, Emirates Holidays, Intrepid Travel, Independent Traveller, Saga Holidays, Exodus, etc.

The Genius Bar provided the opportunity for the consumers to have one to one chat with the best travel experts, while the Destinations Theatre provided a line-up of celebrity travelers, film makers, explorers and travel experts by giving presentations on various subjects with detailed insights and personal experiences from famous personalities such as John Craven (UK TV Icon), Will Fox (Conservationist and filmmaker), Nick Crane (Geographer, author and broadcaster), Dr. James Logan (scientist & TV presenter) and Michael Portillo (documentaries such as The Great Railway journeys).

Ms. Wadia said, “Following the launch of The Telegraph Travel Show in January last year, attracting approximately 25,000 visitors, the Seychelles Tourism Board office in the UK revisited the show once again this year as an exhibitor. Although not large in numbers the show brings in a good number of affluent consumers looking for new destinations to travel to. As part of Telegraph events, the show brings together its readers and consumers in an environment aimed at inducing them to travel with the biggest travel companies, destinations and insider industry experts all on hand to help them book that once-in-a-lifetime trip.”

The UK market has shown a 15% increase in visitor arrivals to the Seychelles in 2016.

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP).
