Seychelles Tourism Board and Turkish Airlines wow agents in Ireland

The Seychelles Tourism Board’s (STB) UK, along with Turkish Airlines and some of their Seychelles hotel partners, once again, embarked upon a sales motivation and awareness event in Cork, Ireland, last week.

The event, which took place at the Imperial Hotel in Cork, was aimed at creating awareness about Seychelles as a destination, its products and services, and the fact that it is a destination served by Turkish Airlines three times per week.

Routing via Istanbul is quick and efficient, with its new time schedule and connectivity, through one of Europe’s leading hubs.

At the moment, Turkish Airlines flies from Dublin, connecting to the Seychelles, however, there is a possibility that they may introduce flights from Cork as well, said the general manager for Turkish Airlines in Ireland, Hasan Mutlu.

STB was represented by its manager for UK and Ireland, Tinaz Wadia, and marketing executive Eloise Vidot.

“It is imperative to create an awareness of affordability, especially pricing out of Ireland with the airline was extremely favorable, and based on this and what Seychelles has to offer, together with some good rates offered by the hotel partners, make the destination more accessible and affordable to the Irish public.”

She added that STB’s office in UK – also responsible for Ireland – has worked tirelessly on the Irish market, forging new relationships with the travel trade industry and airlines, and also maintaining existing relationships and encouraging this market sector to travel to the destination.

The hotel partners presented their products, detailing their philosophies and services, as well as the offers that were available and bookable on the Irish market. It was an intense evening of exchanging information, and making the travel trade aware of accessibility and affordability of the destination.

Hotel partners who were present were Andrew Sharpe of Banyan Tree Seychelles; Ash Behari of Hotel Coco de Mer and Black Parrot Suites, Praslin; and Samantha Leeding of the Four Seasons Seychelles.

Turkish Airlines was represented by a delegation of their dedicated management and staff – Hasan Mutlu – general manager, Onur Gul – sales & marketing executive, Alper Sean Kanburoglu – marketing executive, and Julienne Marie Curran – corporate sales manager.

The Irish travel trade remarked on the noticeable enthusiasm of the Seychelles Tourism Board, airline, and hotels to present and promote their products, and likewise, there was a marked interest from the Irish travel industry to motivate further awareness to their customers, to sell and recommend Seychelles as a destination that is accessible, affordable, and safe.

The Irish market has experienced an increase in visitor arrivals to the Seychelles, closing last year (2016) with a record 42% increase against the previous year.
