The Fantastic Four Turn Their Dreams into Reality

Four of the 28 graduates from the first batch of Hilton Vocational Training Centre’s programme will pursue their hospitality careers in Dubai after having worked full-time at Hilton Nay Pyi Taw.

Lwin Moe Oo, Shein Htet Aung, Moe Moe Swe and Pyei Phyo Swe – joined the Hilton Vocational Training Centre with no prior professional experience. Through intensive vocational training and on-the-job teaching from Hilton trainers, they found their career paths in the housekeeping department.

Hilton and Eden Group Company Limited, together with the Ministry of Hospitality and Tourism, opened the Hilton Vocational Training Centre in Nay Pyi Taw in September 2015. The training centre aims to empower young people with the skills they need to succeed in the hospitality industry. The centre offers two-year diplomas in front office operations, housekeeping, food and beverage service as well as culinary and pastry.

Helen Jacobe, Cluster General Manager of Hilton Myanmar said, “We are so proud of Lwin Moe Oo, Shein Htet Aung, Moe Moe Swe and Pyei Phyo Swe. It is truly amazing to see where their hard work and passion has already taken them.”

On 25th July, Lwin Moe Oo and Shein Htet Aung will join Hilton Jumeirah, Dubai The Walk and Moe Moe Swe and Pyei Phyo Swe will join Hilton Jumeirah Beach Resort. Moe Moe Swe, who is supporting a family with two younger siblings, said, “I am delighted to go there. I couldn’t have imagined taking a plane, let alone travelling to Dubai. Now, I am going to work in Dubai for an internationally renowned hotel chain, the Hilton. This is an enormous achievement for me, both for my career and for my family”.

During their time as Hilton Nay Pyi Taw employees, the four of them have shown the true Hilton spirit to guests and team members alike. This culminated in them receiving team member of the month awards. Committed and energetic, they were always willing to take on extra responsibilities.

These exceptional students started their hospitality career at the age of 18 by enrolling in the Hilton Vocational Training Centre’s programme. They are now role models for the 35 new students who are currently enrolled in the programme.

Hilton has been operating in Myanmar since October 2014, following a landmark deal with Eden Group Company Limited to open five of their properties in key destinations within Myanmar. Hilton Nay Pyi Taw, Hilton Ngapali Resort & Spa and Hilton Mandalay have opened since, to be followed by properties in Inle Lake, Yangon and Bagan in the next two years.
